The Coalition for High Ambition Multilevel Partnerships, CHAMP, connects national governments with cities, states and regions on climate policy, implementation and finance. Its Implementation Roadmap provides the wider context for this session: linking enabling conditions with practical urban delivery and investment.
An energy-focused CHAMP discussion can connect national energy and climate priorities with stable investment conditions; city action on planning, infrastructure and coordination; business investment and public and private demand; and project preparation, financing and risk-sharing. International standards and compatible performance requirements can help solutions scale across markets.
Focus of the discussion
What needs to change so that urban energy solutions move from demonstration into coordinated investment and purchasing?
Concrete examples will help the panel examine which enabling decisions are needed, how investments can be prepared and financed, and what makes demand credible enough for businesses to invest and scale. The discussion is open to different technologies and business models, covering the connections between electricity, heat, buildings, mobility, storage and flexibility.
Hosts: Viable Cities, Swedish Energy Agency, Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, CHAMP
